Hope is dope.
The Cleveland Clinic defines dopamine as “the ‘feel-good’ hormone.’ It gives you a sense of pleasure. It also gives you the motivation to do something when you're feeling pleasure.” It affects our sense of reward… and it keeps you engaged (longer than you should be) online, endlessly doom-scrolling through videos.
“Hopamine” is a far greater reality. No, it doesn’t come from your brain (like our dopy thoughts), but is a God-given reward given to us through the person and work of Jesus Christ. It is not behavioral modification or some flaky morality posited by religion or familiar tradition. It is the rock solid reality that lifts us into a love beyond description.
Hope is essential. Through our hope in Christ, we are lifted to see ourselves and everyone in our world in a new and living way.
“Now, may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” - Romans 15:13
YOU ARE THE GREATEST IDEA GOD EVER HAD
